At Stafford Johnson we have been helping people sell and buy their homes in Goring, Ferring and all over the greater Worthing area for more than a quarter of a century. Our reputation for transparency, results and good old fashioned hard work built up over that time is second to none.
We are also known for our unique blend of tried and tested traditional methods used together with the most modern and up to date ways of doing things. It's what has always set us apart from others.
Over the past three years we've been working closely with another local estate agent with the same work ethic and values, offering the very best service to clients of both companies. It now seems a very natural progression to make this bond even stronger by fully merging our teams and combining our resources.
So it's with great pleasure and excitement that we announce that going forward we will all be operating out of our newly extended office on Goring Road under the new banner of 'Matthew Anthony incorporating Stafford Johnson'.
Changes
When Neil Stafford and Ian Johnson decided to join forces and launch a brand new company in 2000 it was an exciting time. The turn of a century will always have a feeling in the air and the two experienced estate agents tapped into a positive and creative wave to create their new business.
Focusing exclusively on the local Goring and Ferring communities, the name Stafford Johnson soon became known for getting results and treating clients and customers with the utmost respect.
Over the past twenty five years we have continued to honour Ian and Neil's ethics even after they themselves have passed on the baton.
Of course, changing with the times is something that any business must do in order to be competitive and continue to provide a first class service. In fact, here at Stafford Johnson we have always taken pride in having created a unique mix of merging traditional values and methods with brand new cutting edge ways of doing things.
Quarter of a century
The whole of society has undergone great changes in the first quarter of this century. The internet is now a fundamental part of how we do so many day to day activities and communications and marketing methods have evolved greatly over a relatively short space of time.
Looking back it's hard to believe that when Neil and Ian started the company smartphones didn't exist and the online property portals were still years away from becoming reality.
Today the notion of looking into an estate agent's shop window and asking for a printed brochure is certainly not the first thing most people moving home will do, but both still do have a role to play.
It's this kind of pragmatic mix of old and new ways of doing things that has helped us make such a name for ourselves in our area. It's also something that will continue as we move forward as part of a larger team.
Same place, new times...
The last few years that we've been working closely with the team at Matthew Anthony have shown both companies that sharing responsibilities really does benefit clients. Estate agents are by nature 'people people' so all being based in one location makes for far more efficiency than communicating between two offices.
When the space next to our office on Goring Road became vacant it was decided that we would expand and take on the extra space to accommodate both teams.
So we will be moving forward into 2026 by making exciting changes whilst also staying in the same place. It's almost a perfect way to sum up the last twenty five years of the way Stafford Johnson has always mixed the old and new to create something special.
